His body is colored like the smoke that comes off a fired gun, features and legs charred with the residue of the gun powder. The proper term would be a grullo dun bred as an Appendix Quarter Horse.
His mane and tail are of a lackluster black highlighted with amber creme threads, the same color that fills his callous stare. In true dun form black stripes bar his limbs below the knee/hock and a bold dorsal stripe extends from the depths of of his mane to the base of his tail.
Intensive scarring has deformed the left region of his face, starting just above his eye and reaching down to his chin. The skin is a bare black, hairless and misshapen - the result of bear attack. It's painful.
As a memento of his past life a thick leather band remains latched around his left front fetlock. Images of guns have been carved into the leather, a tool of the past in the hands of humans. Hobbles, long broken. He sees them as the weight of his duty, for it was God's will for them to break and for him to be set free during the attack, set free so God's will could be told to everyone.
Law 1. Those who are abominations on this earth must die. They cannot survive, because they never should have been born. Hideous mutations which scar a perfect body and mar the earth - this is what the pegasus and unicorn races are. They must be annihilated. That is Nieque's will.
Law 2. Other creatures of God's creation must not be destroyed without God's command, else one will be punished.
Law 3. Fellow equines are to be rescued and tended to in situations of danger, but not at the extreme risk of oneself. Those who have betrayed their true lines should be shown the correct path once more, and in failing to recover will be killed for their traitorous nature.
Law 4. A mare is as good as her womb and pretty face, but is never a warrior. A child born of one's seed is one's responsibility to care for and raise, particularly if it is a colt.
Law 5. Manners and honor are the defining point of the equine race and should never be forgotten, even in an instance of a difficult and primitive opponent. Before a fight one's name will always be spoken, so that the one that is to be defeated will know who they lost to.
Law 6. Above all else, never show emotions for they are the key to defeat. Laughter, sadness, anger, happiness - these tools will weigh down the heart and take one's focus away. It is a cold and cruel world and one must reflect this to stay afloat.
This is the resolve of oneself.

History:
Bullet Wounds Hurt 20 Years Later
One was once called Spur. One has since renamed oneself to Gunslinger, a messenger of God.
One does not remember the first day in this world. But one has been told of it. One came from the black mare, Jessie - one's dam. One does not remember her, but one is told she was there in the beginning. She fed oneself, cared for oneself, taught oneself before ones mentor ever did. Yet, one does not remember her. One is surprised by this. One has been told one's dam is dead now. One did not grieve.
One's mentor is what one remembers; the dun stallion, Bacco - one's sire. Bacco was also a gunslinger. Bacco was strong. One remembers Bacco very well. Bacco was the leader of the gunslingers, ridden by the minions of God - they had power ones race did not. They had guns. They carried out God's will. Bacco told oneself every day the enemy is the pegasus and the unicorns, for they are monsters that must be killed, for that is God's will. One did not understand at first, one did not care about God. One was foolish then.
The minions of God which rode the gunslingers moved one and one's familiars often. One was told later this was called traveling mercenaries. The minions traded with weaker minions for food, shelter and shiny rocks. In return the gunslinger minions exterminated any nearby pegasus or unicorns and took hold of the nearby equines.
A day came when oneself was due to be ridden, as one had become old enough. But one did not like the weight of the minions, one did not like the metal and the leather and the noise. One hurt a minion badly, one was then hurt badly for several days. It only stopped, one believes, because there was a surprise ambush. One's camp was destroyed by a herd of all races. One did not know such herds existed. One saw equines die that day. One was trapped, held to a pole and tied to oneself. God freed oneself that day, God broke the straps on ones feet when one pulled again, though one had been pulling for a long time. One escaped with Bacco. One did not look back, Bacco said not to.
One and Bacco roamed the wilds for many seasons. One learned how to fight, how to kill, how to extend God's will. One cared about God now, because God had freed one during a time of danger. One made up the laws of one's God, which one always follows. Bacco taught one many of these laws. One was happy. One soon learned not to be happy.
One remembers that morning very well. One lost one's face that day. One lost Bacco that day. One was not strong enough that day - but one has changed since. One killed that bear that killed Bacco. Killing bear's is not God's will, and one was punished later. One should not seek revenge on other creature of God. One knows this now. One is the only gunslinger left now. One travels to complete God's will. This is one's story.

Ravenous for food and attention the bronze hatches into a world he deems his for the taking. Spoiled from the moment his shell cracked, deemed to be so by the brilliant shine of his copper scales, Clip is little more than a child throwing tantrums should anything fail to go his way. His thoughts are fouled by greed and self-flattery, while his responses are sharp with a lack of manners and his emotions run like rampant elephants. Clip is in all sense of the word, completely out of control. He and Gunslinger find themselves ripping at the seams which bind them, each distraught by the other's outlook and behaviors. In time, as childhood passes, taking all sanity with it, Clip and Gunslinger will have grown use to each other and conquered their inner battles. Surprisingly, the little bronze had as much to teach the stallion as Gunslinger had to teach him.
At Maturity
73 pounds - 1'9" tall - 4'2" long
They have tempered each other over the time of their bond, creating an unsealable link which essentially has made them one and the same entity. Having fought tooth and nail against both physical and mental barriers, having scoured the landscapes and split the blood of many be it for feast or duty, the pair are well synced. Though it was not always so, the past hardship if anything makes the current comradery all the sweeter. Clip has shed his condescending and bragging airs, though he still can't help but to preen and admonish those beneath him. Though he is smaller for a bronze (perhaps subconsciously growing to better suit his smaller bonded) Clip has proven himself fierce and quick. He has gained a calmer attitude and peaceful acceptance of the world thanks to Gunslinger's influence. Clip now struggles to uphold honor and duty, thinking of the herd and his allies before himself; though Gunslinger always comes first. At times Clip's emotions can still be volatile, especially when he is confused or surprised, however he has gained copious amounts of wisdom and skill in a short amount of time. Every night he and the grullo council with each other, discussing the day's events, the future plans and past actions and otherwise theoretical banter.
A brilliant shade of bronze scales are fortified by a richer copper underbelly, armored more with plates. From the base of his skull and elbows several hard spines protrude in another defensive element. Thing membranes held by flexible spines course down from his poll to his tail tip, aiding immeasurably in the agility and speed of his flight as he can flare or flatten this extra membrane as needed. Leather wings are tipped with sharp and long claws, similar in material to the shorter, wider claws which adorn the flexible digits on both his front and hind feet. His snout is short and wide, allowing for a strong set of teeth which are meant to crush and grab rather than rake or stab; though a harder base, not quite a beak, makes up the edge of his lips. Eyes are of a rich blue, unchanging like others of his kind, but no less telling of the stirrings within him. More apt to roar or produce a scathing screech when producing outward noise, Clip does occasionally offer short quips of chirps or melodies.

Let me explain a bit about Gunslinger's play list, because much of it is in a specific order and for a specific reason
The first 12 songs are instrumental only and are in order of his lifetime from past to death, changes in the beat and overall sound of the songs signaling changes in him.
1. Soundscape to Ardor - Bleach OST3 | It has an uncertain, apprehensive feel which was him being trained as a young colt and his attempted breaking out.
2. On the Precipice of Defeat - Bleach OST1 | The tempo picks up in this song and signifies the chaos and struggle as he fights against being saddle broke and his escape from hobbles when his ranch was raided.
3. Love Conservative - Gurren Lagann OST | A sad and slow song showing his sorrow over the loss of his family and all that he knew
4. Nikopol - Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann OST | The beat picks up again and has a sketchy quality and some rough vocals. This is Bacco training him alone in the wilderness and his rise from boyhood to man.
5. Sadness and Sorrow - Toshiro Masuda | The song again slows and slips into an even greater sadness. Here he lost Bacco to the bear and grieves for him.
6. Matsuri - Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni OST | A dark and dungeon type sounding song, chains; he seeks revenge on Bacco and hunts for the bear. He has turned crueler now.
7. Gravity - Maaya Sakamoto | Piano and a soft, girl voice showing a more peaceful feeling and somewhat sad but hopeful. Revenge has been attained though the loss remains. He begins his traveling, alone and weary.
8. Opening - Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni OST | Some background singing and weird scattered noises for an overall strange and trippy feel. Here he has begun his full devotion to Nieque and begun to slaughter other races.
9. Someone's Cursing Someone Else - Gurren Lagann OST | The trippy music remains, slower and darker now as he hardens himself to the world and ups his death count.
10. Shinkou - Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni OST | The music slows again, though it remains trippy and not really sad. He has reached Isilme and is mystified by her. He struggles to keep his old ways.
11. Main Theme - Higurashi OST | Again slow and even stranger music. Now it sounds sad once more as he begins to fall into introverted thought and hovers in sorrow. He is injured, he has failed, he is alone; one of these or all, there is a great loss.
12. Are You Coming Home, Love Mom - Kyle Gabler | Very slow and delicate music. He has died.
The next 4 songs are cowboy/westernish songs which give me muse/get me into the mode for the theme of Gunslinger
13. Wanted Dead or Alive - Chris Daughtry (I just prefer him over Bon Jovi) | Even though it's about a cowboy on a motorcyle, this song just seems very western/cowboy to me and has thus always given me that sort of muse
14. Ain't no Rest for the Wicked - Cage the Elephant | The beat and sound to this song just seem cowboyish to me and so give me muse. I also like the 'nor est for the wicked' as that fits with his bounty hunter outlook
15. Gunslinger Man - The Long Ryders | Stumbled upon this song. What can I say fits well
16. Desperado - The Eagles | Again western/cowboy sounding though more sad this time and lonely as he will be.
The next 5 songs are songs that may in part be somewhat related to what Gunslinger is or is about, but are less cowboy/western and give me the least muse, but still mean something.
17. Gotta Knock A Little Harder - Yoko Kanno | I prefer instrumental for him, but I do love the closing line to this song which refers to how he never found happiness even with all his revenge and all his work. Death never helped.
18. Hotel California - The Eagles | The song is somewhat mysterious and strange, and I feel it describes his staggering steps through life and his attempt to understand things. His loneliness and failure, bound by his laws.
19. Machine Head - Bush | The rough, deep sound to it and the weird hum within it.
20. Paper Planes - M.I.A. | Just the odd sound of the song and the way the people in it treat each other, the sound of gunshots.
21. Welcome to the Jungle - Guns n Roses | Really nothing but the theme behind this song fits, which is that the world is chaos, a jungle.

Gunslinger was created not long after I watched Cowboy Bebop. Much of his history was inspired from that anime with the whole bounty hunter theme, but otherwise I have always been favorable of western and cowboy themes. Originally I was shooting for a name related to Barbed Wire but didn't find anything that worked and called him Gunslinger, remembering the title of a Stephen King Book.
Said Stephen King book was read (again, as I started almost a year earlier and never got past 30 pages) several months later and I fell in love with it and gobbled up the rest of the series. Though Gunslinger was already formed by then I am integrating some of the styles and mannerisms I read in the Stephen King book into Gunslinger, particularly some more specific memories of his past.
