{Character Information}

A bright, glossy black tinged with some rich, bold brown along his muzzle and flanks. He has a rather short, thin mane which lays in a messy slew along either side of his thick, short neck. He has a compact sort of body, taking after the wild and stout nature of the mustang. Along his back in a vibrant dorsal stripe is a line of blinding yellow which scatters down on either of his shoulders in a type of lightning pattern. This same yellow sweeps beneath and above each furious amber eye in an elegant pattern. His tail is short as well and mediocre with its fullness. His great black wings are barely tinted with his yellow on the tips, but otherwise are of little notice from the typical Pegasus wings, perhaps a bit large in proportion to his body, but nothing for the size of his dam's wingspan.

A long, steel katana is constantly found hovering at his side. It's hilt is decorated in black with silver lightning bolts cutting across it. The sword bears the name Ampere and was 'stolen' from the Tome Guardian in October 12th 2009 when Voltaic was about 8 months. He first discovered his magic through this particular sword and keeps it as his ally now.

A bit of an explosive personality he'll never back down from a fight, or a dare for that matter. A bit reckless...okay really reckless. He seems to have blatant disregard for anything close to self preservation. He doesn't really seem to give a damn about a whole lot. He does care for his family, but he's also of the opinion everyone should be able to take care of themselves, so he tends only to help when it seems serious. And not much seems serious to him. He's defiant by nature, acting out against rules and authority, constantly walking the line of near banishment from the herd. He's charming in a rough and tough sort of way though, and he is an active flirt, but he's not much for love or babies. He just likes having his ego stroked.

Aside from being the little daredevil, Voltaic has a more noticeable 'quirk'. The silver katana always found at his side is easily noticed, but so is his relationship with 'her'. Voltaic doesn't look at Ampere as just a sword, just a weapon or a tool. Ampere is his partner, his friend, his sister. Ampere is real to him. She's as real to him as anyone else, having a shy yet rigid and independent personality. She is strong and always eager for a fight and he admires her constantly. He gleans advice from her, for they actively have conversations; she's rather witty in fact. In a way, he loves her, and it grows over time until he becomes obsessive about her.

Of course, Ampere is not real. Voltaic is a sword, moving only when Voltaic makes her so, even if he doesn't realize that he does it. Her voice is only part of his own thoughts, though so far alienated and separated he doesn't even recognize them as his any more. Any attempts by others to point such things out are usually ignored by Voltaic or met with a harsh rage - he cannot face the truth of this reality he has constructed. Ampere helps him cope. Maybe deep down he knows, but he won't admit it, not openly, not aloud. If he does though, he certainly gives no signs of understanding his fairytale. Because of this, any time within posts Voltaic mentions Ampere acting of her own or speaking or behaving in a certain manner - that is all his personification of her, she is only a sword, cutting the air.

- Meets Vanora in the Gateway and brings her home
- Meets December and Thalia while bringing Vanora home

- Tries to scare Zodiac and instead is startled by a strange noise which is an evil Marmot! It's sound makes Voltaic worship Zodiac for a month.
- Gives Zodiac one of his hairs to help his quest
- Meets up with Kaela in the Flooded Plains
- Goes with Zodiac to the Tome Guardian where he finds a katana sword that awakens the power within him.
- Practices his new magic while meeting Alejandro and Amira Moniet at the Gateway.
- Discovers his father's death and rushes to the clouds of Perpetua in grief. There Vanora finds him and tries to offer comfort. He yells at her to go away and she gets caught in the storm as she leaves, falling to her death and screaming for him. He snaps out of his grief for a moment as he rushes to save her, the pair barely managing to right themselves.
- Stabbed, Voltaic is too weak to fly. Wounded, Vanora is too weak to fly. Together, soaked in winter, they begin to die. Angel Feather finds them and attempts to help, offering to carry Vanora down. A flying orca arrives by chance, and offers his aid.
- Still pouting Voltaic is startled by the arrival of the Phoenix. As it begins its rampage he flies in to attack. The herd helps, Arcadia delivering the finishing blow. Receives the phoenix feather, giving him fiery wings.
- Spars with Zodiac and wins.
- Meets Nyx in Winter Wonderland and is enchanted by her.
- The Cliffs are invaded and lose. Angry, Voltaic attacks Gideon as he throws them out.
- Attends the gathered meeting of Cliff members in the Creek, tries to rouse morale.
- Goes with Arcadia to find a purple pearl to summon the next giant bird.

Electrical ability to conduct a multitude of lightning bolts by running the high electric charge always surrounding him through a metal device.

Able to control anything metal by extending his electric charge to it and shifting its polarity.

Yellow marks underneath eyes, yellow tipped feathers on wings, partial yellow dorsal stripe scattering down shoulders in lightning pattern.

Steel katana named Ampere with a black hilt and silver lightning bolt designs.

Voltaic was actually created in my head one day in chemistry class in early 2008 when my teacher was talking about Voltaic cells. I really had no other plans for him other than being named Voltaic and electric based, so his personality and design came about right before he was born.
